This product is great as in it's duh, organic but it tends to leave my scalp oily the next day, I don't know why. So I took to washing the bottom of my hair with this and using a different shampoo on my roots. That sort of works, ok. Having to use two shampoos in the shower is annoying though. The worst part about this shampoo is that it barely lathers, one bottle lathered more than the other which is odd. So it's hard to spread the lather around, you don't know which part of your hair has shampoo on it or not. The product locations of purchase were w [...] and [...]. Anyway another con is that if you have a slight wave in your hair or frizzy hair, this shampoo actually makes your hair even frizzier. Unless you curl it or straighten it. If you want a shampoo that actually tames frizz a bit and allows you to walk out the door without styling, use the John Masters lavender Rosemary shampoo for NORMAL hair, whatever you do don't choose DRY hair. They should just rename the dry hair shampoo to Oil slick, lol. Although that shampoo has a tough time keeping my scalp not oily second day, first day out of the shower leaves my hair non-frizzy and I don't have to style it. :) Unless I'm going to the mall and I want a better look. But just picking up coffee it's totally fine. I''m surprised the reviews don't say tame frizz because I honestly think it does. I also use the lavender and avocado intensive conditioner (just on ends -not scalp) with this which is priced around 15-20 bucks. If you do have seriously damaged hair, this honey shampoo will def make your hair softer, but it will make it pretty oily if you use it all over. Honestly, I think the lavender rosemary shampoo can be used for damaged hair as well. :) Be sure to pick up a clarifying shampoo also to remove build up b/c these shampoos def have buildup after a weeks use. But don't get the clarifyer from here. I bought it and didn't like it. The applecider vinegar actually leaves hair really dry, think scarecrow. And it doesn't have a shampoo consistency it moreso has a water-liquid consistency, really weird. You're better off choosing another organic line for a clarifyer. Anyway, I hope this helps :) Good luck to all you girls looking for the perfect hair. I will say when I use the honey shampoo along with lavender Avo conditioner on my ends and then curl it, I always get shiny curls. :) I gave it a 4 and not a five b/c of the frizz and oily scalp factor. And if you use it with my instructions, it's a 4. If you were to use it all over your head and get major oily head then it's a 3.

Not impressed with quality or price

Comments about john masters organics Honey & Hibiscus Hair Reconstructing Shampoo, 6 fl oz:

Smells divine, lathers up really well...but doesn't feel clean enough... Maybe it is great for damaged hair, but not for me... especially for that price! For damaged hair, I would rather use primrose shampoo and avocado conditioner.

I have healthy long hair. This shampoo weighed it down too much. I could use it on the bottom half of my hair, but not my scalp. I didn't care for the overwhelming scent either. I prefer John Masters zinc and sage shampoo for my hair type and its sweet scent is more appealing to me.

Comments about john masters organics Honey & Hibiscus Hair Reconstructing Shampoo, 6 fl oz:

I have tried a lot of natural shampoos and while they may work, they don't lather enough so I end up using more of it at each shampoo thinking my hair isn't getting clean. I read a blog that listed this as a great shampoo for dry hair, so I decided to try it. I am so glad I did! This shampoo does lather (not as much as the store-bought brands that have all those nasty chemicals, but it lathers enough to make my hair feel clean), and it smells fantastic! My hair is very fine (although there's a lot of it) and it tends to get dry during the winter. I've had no problem with this in the month I've been using this shampoo. I highly recommend you at least try it. My only complaint is that the tube is smaller than I'm used to. I wish they offered it in a larger bottle, which would save me a little money.

Comments about john masters organics Honey & Hibiscus Hair Reconstructing Shampoo, 6 fl oz:

I am in love with this shampoo and the conditioner that goes with it. I have thick, wavy frizz-prone hair, and after using this and the conditioner for about a month, my hair looks so much better than it ever has. I will note that this shampoo doesn't have SLS in it, so if you have hard water, it won't foam up as much as most other shampoos do. Sulfates & the detergents they use in most shampoos are horrible for your hair, btw (especially if you color, like I do). If you're not used to shampoos without SLS or other harsh detergents, they can be weird at first because they foam a lot less. This doesn't mean that it isn't getting your hair clean, though, and if you really must have the foam, you can always wash your hair twice (it will foam a bit more on the second wash, but it seems like a waste of expensive shampoo to me). I also only wash my hair twice a week because the ends can be really dry, and I never have problems with my scalp being too oily or looking greasy, as often happened with other shampoos and conditioners.

Smelled good. My hair is a little longer than shoulder-length and I had to use a lot, so the whole bottle didn't last very long. I'm not sure it was significantly better than any other intensive hair conditioner but I would still buy it again.

Wow! I love John Masters Organics products, but this shampoo is the first product I felt the need to review! It is amazing. I have curly, thick, dry, color treated hair. This shampoo leaves it feeling AMAZING. It definitely fights frizz, and leaves my hair less tangly than some conditioners. I used it this morning with JMO's citrus and neroli detangler as a leave-in, and my oh my, was it a good hair day!

This shampoo may be great for fine thin hair but it's horrible on my medium thick hair. Unless I use a TON it never lathers and after my shower my hair looks oily like it never got washed. For the ridiculous price I expected a "wow" shampoo and this just wasn't it.
