That's too bad that it didn't work with curly hair. It is truly perfect for my long, straight, fine hair. I ordered the Ivory color, it looks a little hip and a little classic. It is very lightweight and so does not catch in my hair at all. So many barrettes slip out of my hair and I have to use gobs of spray gel to give my hair some texture, but this really stays put. I use it either to pull just the front back, or to put all of my hair in a ponytail. It works well either way.

I have even fallen asleep with it in, more than once. Oops. But it has not broken, has not popped open, and has slipped very little when I wake up in the morning! I also don't notice any hair breakage from the barrette. Good quality.

I love this expensive barette. It is very well made, does not catch my long hair and very attractive. in this case, I feel I got what I paid for by paying more.

Although just as pretty as the other France Luxe barrettes/ponytail holders that I own, this barrette is very long and its ability to hold my curly hair in a half-ponytail is null. My hair isn't even thick, but the curls add volume and this barrette is so narrow in terms of how much hair it can hold that it's useless to me. Happily I didn't remove the tag so it's going back. This would be fine for women with fine straight hair as a barrette but it isn't for me. It is very attractive and chic-looking and if it's like the other France Luxe products I own it's durable and high-quality, though, hence the 2 stars.
