Comments about Deborah Lippmann Nail Color, Ruby Red Slippers, .5 fl oz:
this is my 3rd deborah lippmann polish, and i love them all. this glitter color is a little more challenging to apply than the duochromes, but worth the effort for the resulting color. the 1st coat goes on with little glitter, and the base is a sheer black. the 2nd coat packs all the punch of the red glitter, blends with the sheer black & the resulting color is fabulous. use a good top coat as the glitter finish can be a bit rough. i gave it 4 stars instead of 5 only because the glitter is difficult to take off!

Comments about Deborah Lippmann Nail Color, Ruby Red Slippers, .5 fl oz:
this is my second deborah lippmann purchase, & i believe i'm addicted to her polish. they do require a bit of skill to apply, but the color results are fabulous and long lasting - about 2 weeks with a good base & top coat. ruby red slippers has a dark base but the 2nd coat brings out all the red glitter & the effect is really fun. i applied 3 coats of top coat to smooth out the glitter's texture, just a personal preference. i love it!

Comments about Deborah Lippmann Nail Color, Ruby Red Slippers, .5 fl oz:
This is a good dark shade for those who like very shimmery polishes. For those who were disappointed with Lippmann's "Happy Birthday" shade (too much silver), they might be pleased with this. The only glitter in this polish is red. It has a semi-sheer black base with lots of red glitter to it. The glitter is in different sizes to add a variety of texture and make the light bounce off the nails in an interesting way. You will definitely need at least two coats of this to achieve the right level of shimmer, and I applied it slightly thicker than normal to achieve the right dimension of shimmer. It looks better in artificial light than in natural, IMO. I am a typical Southern woman who usually wears lighter colors on my fingernails (I'm thirty), but I like this for a trendy change. I recommend it for those with fair skin, preferably with a cool color base to their tone. Relatively short, more squared off nails look the best and the most trendy with a shade like this. It does remind me of "The Wizard of Oz", in a nice way. Very cool and it'd be perfect for many different Halloween costumes , Valentine's Day and the Xmas/holiday season. As with all shades heavy on glitter, prepare to spend some time removing this, it isn't easy. I use Lippmann polishes exclusively for my nail colors. I manicure my fingernails weekly and my toenails every three weeks. I always put Seche Clear Base Coat on, then two coats of Lippmann polish, followed by a coat of Seche Vite Top Coat. Lippmann has the most elegant, adult, beautiful and flattering colors (both trend and classic).
