After a couple days' further thought, I've decided I was a little too harsh in my earlier criticism. Drugstore.com has told me that my review cannot be removed, but has invited me to write another review modifying my first one. Consequently, I've now given this product two stars ("needs improvement") rather than just one ("not impressed"). However, I continue to think that Caswell-Massey's shave cream is not worth anything like its great expense compared to my Van Der Hagen glycerin shave soap.

This shaving cream doesn't combine well with water: it doesn't lather up well, and consequently it dries out quickly. Not what you'd expect from a cream as expensive as this one is. I'm going back to my tried and true, and far cheaper, glycerin shave soap.
