First of all, I appreciate that the Butter product line does not use formaldehyde, toluene or DBP in their polishes. It surprises me that so many nail polishes still contain those toxic chemicals - scary! Butter's packaging is also really cool - I find that square bottles are actually easy to maneuver than round ones! So about this product: when they say "nail foundation" they REALLY mean it. After it dried, I'd never seen my nail bed look so smooth and flawless. It really looks like a coat of foundation, covering up any flaws and ridges...almost like I had applied acrylic nails. I think the lot of material made maybe was too old. I purchased different times and same results as if the polish was old. I will not buy this again.

I love, love, love this basecoat. I wear it every day, 90% of the time alone. Unlike a lot of basecoats, it looks great by itself. It is a neutral, almost translucent (and most important, matte) pink. It also goes on easily and takes good care of my nails. I couldn't be happier with this product.

Found this product when I became pregnant totally sold on the idea of a "healthier" product (3 free), but after long term use for a few years these product can horribly dry out nails and make them brittle. Not worth it! Short term use might be OK (I used the polishes with their base and top coat exclusively since they don't set up and do not dry with all other top coats/base coats, and do not use a quick dry solution! will ruin it completely). My Dr completely feels the product is to blame. Took 6 months to recover toe nail health after stopping use of these products. Buyer beware! Also the bottle size of the top coat is too large to use to the end because it dries out becoming too thick and doesn't dry/set and cannot be thinned with polish remover unlike more traditional polishes.

I have never tried Butter nail products before, but I love the idea that they don't have any of those nasty chemicals in them- especially since I am pregnant. I have a really good OPI basecoat that i love, but decided to try this after reading it's rave reviews. I really like it, not only does it have a super speedy drying time, it really smooths out any nail ridges giving a perfect canvas for applying polish. It is a really pretty super matte pink, which can definately stand alone, if that is your thing, I, personally, prefer a high shine finish, so I'm not too sure how often I will be wearing it solo, but it is nice to have that option. I highly recommend it!

This products fill the ridges on my nails and make them smooth so that I can apply nail polish and have my nails look as if I had them done professionally! Also, I like the fact that you can wear it by itself so if you feel lazy just put on a coat of this and off you go. All in all this is a wonderful product although some may think it is a bit pricy for the amount you get in the bottle.

I loved the color and I used it as nail polish for about a week thinking I would eventually put polish over it. It stayed on a long time so I knew it would be a great base coat. It also smoothed out the nail beds really well.

As a base coat this has to be the best I have ever used! One coat needed and it's dry before I start to apply my polish. My colour glided on so smoothly and did not streak.
