Achieving perfectly groomed brows takes some experimentation – and lots of patience. Whether you want natural looking brows or something more dramatic, the first step is finding which type of brow product (powders, pencils or waxes) will work best. We’ve put together a list of our favorites to help narrow your search.

The Anastasia Brow Ex-Press Palette, available in Blonde and Brunette, is a great place to start. This all-in-one kit comes with 4 brow stencils, 2 brow powders, cream highlighter, wax cream, and an angled application brush. There are different stencil shapes to help show you where to apply the powder. Use the brow powders separately, or mix them for a more accurate color match. Apply the cream highlighter along the brow bone to accentuate eyes and give brows a lifted look. Use the wax to help your retain your brow shape, and keep powder in place all day. 

Another good kit is the Paula Dorf 2 + 1 For Brows Trio, which comes in Blonde, Brunette, Pewter, or Red.  It also comes with 2 different shades of powder, and wax to hold brows in shape. Elizabeth Arden Dual Perfection Brow Shaper and Eyeliner in Sable is another fantastic dual-purpose product that can be used to shape and fill-in brows, or as eyeliner.

If you have naturally thin or sparse eyebrows, Kevyn Aucoin The Precision Brow Pencil in Basic Brown, Blonde, and Auburn, is a good choice. It has a very thin tip that mimics real brow hairs with precision to create natural looking brows. Or, try Urban Decay Brow Beater Eyebrow Pencil in Brilliant Blonde or Brunette Bombshell. It has eyebrow color at one end, and clear wax at the other to keep brows in shape all day.

In addition to the right product, a good pair of tweezers is essential for the perfect set of brows. The Anastasia WCRF Awareness Tweezer is a great, high quality steel tweezer. This pair is precisely angled to get at those tiny hairs that haven’t grown in yet and fine, baby hairs. Another high quality brand is Tweezerman.  The Tweezerman SPA Petite Tweeze Set comes with two stainless steel tweezers - a slant pair for brows and a point pair for finer hairs.

When using your tweezers, be sure to pull hairs out in the direction that they grow, and keep your tweezers clean and sanitized.
