I'm at a loss as to why this product has received so many negative reviews. Upon receiving this product, I read through all the directions and even visited the company website to gain insight into how to use this product.
The key is taking the plastic off of the battery! The curler will not work unless the plastic is removed. Also, when I replaced the original battery with a normal Energizer battery, I noticed the curler did become warmer and seemed to work even better.
I have stick straight, thin eyelashes and this curler is the best I've used. It gets warm enough to curl without getting hot enough to hurt my eyes. It takes a little practice--I noticed simply running the curler through my eyelashes did not work too well. The trick is to hold the curler at the end of your eyelashes and sort of "backcomb" (not exactly, but cannot think of a better description) and hold for a second or two.
Great, great product. Bought one for my purse, as well.

I know the reviews here are really mixed, but I thought the product worked just fine. Takes a while for the curler to heat up (maybe it's the cheap battery it comes with), but once heated works pretty nicely. For the price, the tool seems kind of light and flimsy though. It takes a bit of practice, and isn't a one-step deal like a traditional curler. You first press underside of your lashes to make then go straight up, and then apply pressure on the tips of the lashes to curl. The best thing is that the results last a long time, and looks more natural that the crimpy look you get with a regular curler. I also seem to have more success using after applying mascara.

This heated eyelash curler works great for my short, straight, downward pointing lashes. I swipe on my Dior eyelash primer first, then hold the wand of the curler at the base of my lashes starting in the center, then out to the edge, and then the inner lashes. I repeat, but move halfway up my lashes. I have tried this method with and without the primer, and the primer makes all the difference in achieving a great curl. You cannot simply sweep this from root to tip, you need to hold it in place for a few seconds. Expect to change the battery every few weeks, but it's worth it. Also, in my experience, heated eyelash curlers are mechanically sensitive. Treat it with care, don't be rough on the on/off switch or force the cap down.

I followed the directions and it works great. I wear almost no makeup most of the time. I had someone ask me what I had done to make my lashes look so good--it was this and some good mascara only. This doesn't bend or crimp your lashes in an awkward or unnatural way and doesn't damage them, either. Just causes them to curl back and with good mascara makes them look great.

I was excited to have a curler that wouldn't rub my eyeliner off and/or crimp my lashes in a funky way if I clamped down on them wrong. Although it took several swipes over my lashes to get the desired curl, I was happy with the initial results. Unfortunately, this device stopped working after less than two weeks and I can't replace the battery. Really, it's a piece of junk. Maybe I just had a faulty one, but I won't risk trying another.

About five years ago half of my eyelashes decided to go straight. I've always had curly lashes and never had to use an eyelash curler. I began my search for a curler and the best I could come up with was a metal curler that I heated slightly with the hairdryer before using. I came across this heated one and decided to give it a try.
For me, it works best if I put just a very light touch of mascara on before using the curler. My eyelashes stay curled all day and even after removing my make-up at night. I love it.

I use this eyelash curler every day and have since my daughter bought it for me a year and a half ago. If I don't use it, my eyelashes stick straight out. With it, I am able to bend them upward painlessly and they look like eyelashes are supposed to. My only complaint is that it goes through AAA batteries pretty quickly.

If you have thick eyelashes, this will not do a thing for you. I have been using it to heat up my lashes and then using an eyelash curler after.
