I don't notice a big difference in the Matte vs. regular. I would say it's a little less shiny which is what it's made for, right?? Bare Minerals is a great product for my skin, people tell me all the time that I don't look my age and I think it's due in part to this make-up.

Unlike BareMinerals sheer, BareMineral Matte does not have coverage at all. After I used up"Matte", I went back to Sheer one, which has proven for coverage, but looks very sheer.

It dries out my acne and pimples, my skin is now smoother. Works well as foundation and nourishment.

I love Bare Minerals. Everything I wear, from foundation to concealer to blush to eyeshadow, is Bare Minerals.
That said, I am SO glad they finally came out with a leak-prrof jar! I am a bit of a klutz in the morning and I dropped mine constantly, and then half my jar of blush ends up on my floor. So as soon as I saw this I bought it. However, it's not perfect. Most times when I open the jar the holes are already uncovered, even though I lock the cover in place every time I use it. Most of the time it's only open half way, and there hasn't been a drastic spill yet. But I have to be overly careful when I pick up my foundation.
Four stars because it's a great idea but needs work. I hope they improve it, and I hope they add it to all their powders!

I've used Bare Minerals make up for three years. I have combination skin in the winter that becomes oily in the summer. This stuff is genius! I wish I had known about it prior to October. It's perfect for my oily t-zone, which gets super oily during hot, humid Kentucky summers. And the special locking top is fantastic! You can control the amount of powder in the tray/sifter. In years past, the powder would spill out of the container and fill the tray. What a mess, especially after a flight. I can't wait to see how the Matte version performs in July and August. The cons include the fact that the mineral foundation does not last as long as a liquid, and the shade is just a tad pink for my olive complexion. All in all, I'll buy it from now on.

My skin has improved significantly over time since I've started using Bare Minerals. You can even fall asleep without washing your face and you won't wake up to breakouts and blemishes.

The only "con" I could add was that it can be messy when applying b/c the pigments are so strong--you just need to be careful not to drop powder all over your clothes or your bathroom sink.

I feel like I've been waiting for this product my whole life. My favorite foundation so far has been the original BE in Medium Beige, but, because of its "glow" or "shiny-ness", I've purchased countless other foundations trying to find one that works just right. The original BE is perfect because you can blend for an exact color match. Medium Beige works for me by itself most of the time. I've always had to apply mineral veil right away (not just for touch-ups) to try to battle the shine. I use well-rested as a concealer, if needed, and it works beautifully with this powder to cover redness and sun discoloration. I'm 43, with medium, yellow-toned, combination skin, and I'm just beginning to notice that my under-eye area isn't as smooth as it used to be. I was concerned that the BE Matte would fall into small creases, or enhance any dry areas, but it does not. BE Matte has worked best for me only if I apply it on clean, bare skin. Moisturizers, sunscreen, and even some primers tend to make the powder look heavy and fake. I didn't know if the matte formula would, like many foundations, dry out some areas of my face - but it doesn't at all. I tried it once over a matte spf lotion, and the combination of lotion and powder made my skin itch like crazy. This foundation performs like it becomes part of my skin, and I don't even remember it's there. Applied without anything beneath it, there is no itch, it lasts until I remove it, and I doubt anyone can tell I'm wearing foundation! I do not need to apply mineral veil for a natural look, but I apply it occasionally (the tinted one) for a really polished look.

The matte formulation is true in color to the original foundation and may even look better upon initial application. In fact, I was amazed at how great it looks for a few hours, then it seems to wear off relatively quickly. By mid-day, all evidence of my foundation seems to be gone - and that's even after using PrimeTime before applying the foundation. The original foundation lasts all day. I'm going back to the original formulation, but I'll continue to use the matte I bought until it's gone. I don't regret having tried it, though!

I like this better than the original BE; they made great improvements--matte finish, finer texture, makes my skin feel like it's being taken care of in addition to evening out my skintone. The packaging has also been redesigned, and I get just the amount of product I want. I really love this new BE, and the free sample size is perfect for my purse.

I have very oily skin and loved the original product, but this does keep my skin less oily in appearance and seems to have improved over all even without makeup
