I normally do not wear make up and was on a quest to find something to control the shine on my face. I have tried many other mattifiers but they either irratated or did not control the shine. I happened to come across this and bought it because of the good reviews and all the good things I had heard about Bare Minerals. Well, I am hooked. I put this on after my moisturizer and it truly does feel like silk and controlled shine even after sweating in the desert of the middle east. It did not irratate my face either. I also love the fact that it is natural. The only thing that would make this better is if it had spf.

Not all I was hoping

I bought this to replace L'Oreal Bare Naturale translucent finishing powder, which I was always very pleased with except for how quickly it ran out. Thought I would try Bare Minerals, since it is very highly regarded and came in a larger size for a similar price. This product does not refract light or luminize the way the L'Oreal powder does, and it seems to sit on top of my face (especially clinging to fine hairs) looking dull. I could put creme blush on top of the L'Oreal powder, but it won't stick to the Bare Minerals powder - it kind of pills up when you try to blend it. If I touch my face even after hours of wear, the cornstarch in this powder sticks to my fingers. On the other hand, it seems to control shine very well and does a terrific job of setting my ultra-glossy Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer without adding any color. I won't be buying this again, but I'll use it til it's gone (not when I'm expecting anyone to kiss or touch my face though)

I love Mineral Veil because it does give the soft, air-brushed look that it is advertised to give and because it helps my oily skin not look so oily. I love that I can apply it quickly and periodically through the day if I do have some breakthrough shine, and it doesn't change the color or impact of my actual colored makeup. It never looks powdery or cakey on me. Wonderful stuff!

I tried this several years ago, then tried several other brands similar to this product that were less expensive. Even though at least one of the other brands was very nice it was never quite as nice as Bare Minerals. The only drawback I have noticed is that it does tend to settle into my creases if I put on too much. So I need to layer lightly. I will continue to use this product, it really works well.

I am a devoted BareMinerals user. I love all of their products and since I've been using, my skin quit breaking out and my make up looks better than ever. I always used the original Mineral Veil, but felt it made my skin look a tad dull, so tried this instead. I love it because it adds a luminescent youthful glow to my skin and secures my foundation in place all day. It adds more sparkle to my blush. Not recommended for someone that wants a lot of coverage. I like my make up more natural. This is just a nice way to top off your foundation.

I love it, but my mom is addicted to it! She'll wear it around the house even if she's not putting on makeup because she feels like it provides a layer of protection, as well as smoothing her skin out. I think all the bare minerals powders are amazing -- smooths, blends everything, and covers blemishes. Sometimes I will get home and wash my face only to find a blemish that had been so well hidden under my minerals! I have been hooked on them for years.

I dust this on after my liquid foundation, it is colourless, and makes my skin look and feel smooth. I also use it before putting my powder foundation on to help absorb oils and it works great! In the humid climate I am in, it my makeup lasted 2 hours more than the usual 4.

Only con is that I can't bring this out, so touch ups are not possible. I was hoping that mine would come with the lockable lid.. oh well..

Overall, I would definitely repurchase.

Sometimes this works and makes you look sharp and finished but sometimes it don't do anything but make me look like I have too much powder on my face and I know how to do the tap tap feature too with my brush! It did a great job though when it needed to just not so much a few days ago lol!
