Preparations for Light Therapy
- A clean face is important in Light Therapy treatment. Remove all makeup and jewelry from the areas to be treated. Clean the areas to be treated with any high quality ph balanced cleanser.
- Apply for Pure Silk HA serum as per instructions. You may safely use the Baby Quasar with any topical cosmetic product that is safe to use on your skin. The Baby Quasar will increase the effectiveness of the product. Please use products that emulsify into the skin.
Facial Treatment Instructions
- Anti-Aging and Acne
Total treatment time depends on the area being treated. Generally speaking, you will want to put 4 minutes of light onto an area of 3 square inches. When doing a full facial, you will spend approximately 25 to 30 minutes with the Baby Quasar touching the skin. An initial course of treatment lasts about six weeks. During that period you will treat between 12 to 24 times. The skin should rest between treatments, but you may treat every 2 to 3 days depending on how your skin responds. At the conclusion of the sixth week of your initial treatment period you should be close to your maximum benefit.
Follow the maintenance program, treating yourself once every seven to thirty days. The time interval between maintenance treatments depends on your age and skin. Experiment to find the most effective program for your skin. If treating the neck, avoid the Thyroid. The Thyroid Gland is located at the base of the neck where the neck meets the chest. (Note: The wavelengths of light used in the Baby Quasar have not been shown to increase or decrease the activity of the Thyroid. We would rather stay on the side of safety.)
Acne treatment is different. You may treat more frequently as needed to help clear the skin (see below for treatment directions).
Directions
- Divide the face into 6 sections as shown in the picture (see manual).
- When starting treatment, you should first use the low or high pulse mode (orange or red indicator light). Use the low pulse mode if you have sensitive skin.
- Starting at section A, move the wand slowly (about an inch every 8 seconds) over that area for two minutes. A soft tone will sound, signaling you to move to the next area. The wand head should contact the skin. It is not necessary to push down on the wand. The weight of the wand is pressure enough.
- Next, move clockwise to section B. Slowly move the wand over that area for two minutes.
- Moving in a clockwise direction, treat section C, then D, section E, and last, section F.
- Now continue by repeating the treatment over all six areas using the high pulse mode. (You may use the continuous wave mode safely.)
- Push the red button on back of unit until indicator light shines green. Treat any areas on the face that you think need a little extra attention (nose, nasal labial folds, deep lines, wrinkles and age spots). You have 4 minutes to cover all areas that you wish to treat extra. We suggest you spend 15 to 30 seconds on each.
- Push the red button on the back of the wand until indicator light is not shining. You are now finished with the treatment. Total treatment should take twenty-eight minutes.
- Clean the equipment by wiping the wand with alcohol. Do not immerse the device in water.
- Unplug the power supply from the outlet and place in a secure place.
Acne Treatment The acne treatment is performed exactly the same with the following difference.
- You may treat acne more intensively by treating every day for three days up to a week.
- For the next two weeks, perform the facial every 2nd or 3rd day.
- After achieving the desired results, continue to treat as needed to keep acne under control.
- Use on shoulders and back if needed.
Non Pulsed Light Facial Treatment This is an alternative treatment for people with slow responding skin or who have reached a level of diminishing returns. Treat each of the six areas for one beep (4 minutes) on the non pulsed (green) mode.
Sprains, Strains, Wounds, Bruises Use eight to twelve minutes, or more if needed, of non pulsed light on the area being treated. Treat the area as needed. |
