The scrub is pretty abrasive (e.g. think drugstore brand Apricot Scrub/grainy)so if you have sensitive skin I would use it with caution. Even with normal skin, I would probably use no more than 2-3x a week. The scrub smells like fresh Grapefruit (i.e. citrus-y smell) and leaves your skin feeling soft, clean, exfoliated, and supple. I don't think it's worth the price though - I think there are cheaper alternatives out there unless you're looking for natural product. Packaging can use some work though - as other reviewers complained below, I had similar experience.

I first used this at my last facial and will never use another scrub again. This one is IT! It is pricey, but rest assured, a tiny pinky-nail size amount covers the face so this bottle goes a very long way. Also, I am willing to pay a little more for a natural scrub that works. Astara's Daily Refining Scrub is unlike any scrub you ever had--it has tiny "scrubbers" that feel therapeutic. I have always had tiny blackheads on my nose with larger pores in that area, and after about 7 days, this scrub took care of them and they never came back since. I'm in my mid-30s with combo skin, no skin problems, and this product feels so nice. It's non-drying, non oily. It leaves my skin so perfectly balanced that I often forget to use toner or moisturizer afterward. Treat yourself just once to this product: Your skin deserves it! I'm going to buy a bottle for my sister next Christmas. P.S. Per an earlier review: I actually like Astara's packaging! Simple, classic, elegant.

A continual favorite. I have sensitive, easily irritated skin, yet need to exfoliate. I mix this with a gentle foaming cleanser for a wonderful lathering exfoliating scrub. My skin is soft, fresher-looking, and not red and dry.

I just adore this scrub. I discovered it three years ago, and still can't find anything to beat it. The grains are amazingly fine which is especially good for oily skin, as I've noticed harsh exfoliation just makes matters worse. The smell is fresh and and the oils (lavender, grapefruit etc.) leave the skin lightly moisturized. I like the lavender in particular, as it aids in healing skin damage. I've also never had problems with the pump, and think the blue glass bottle is lovely (reminds me of an old colored glass apothecary bottle).

This is the BEST SCRUB I've ever used! The fine granules are surprisingly and effectively abrasive, but without being at all harsh. Each time I use it, I see noticable results: my skin is smooth and glowing, and feels super-soft. If I just want a gentle scrub, I wet my face first. But if I need more aggressive exfoliation, I use the scrub dry. This is an EXCELLENT PRODUCT and well worth the price!

This is product is excellent!!!! I've used many facial scrubs, but nothing so far has come close to this one. My pores are barely visible now, and my skin looks so much better. I do have sensitive skin and used the scrub everyday, but I did a gentle massage, for less than a minute, and didn't have any problems with it.

I've been using Astara daily refining scrub for almost two years now and believe me, the price is worth it. If your skin can handle it, do the 30-day in a row routine...your skin will be so smooth and polished, as if you had underwent expensive microdermabrasion treatment. Do the same to your hands...you'll love the results.

This the best scrub I have ever used, and I buy a lot of expensive products. I stopped using it and my face broke out and my skin stopped looking fresh. The scrub is wonderful smelling, has very small particles and makes my skin look healthy. The pump is horrible though. I spent days trying to get it to work once. I love the blue glass bottle, but think the pump is the cheapest pump that the vendor could find to save money.
