This is the best product I've ever used on my eyebrows. Gel doesn't last as long on my brows and it always leaves an embarrassing flaky residue. My brows look their best with this wax, especially when I fill them in with color right after. Nothing else stays in place quite the same.

A clear mascara is definitely better at controlling my fine brow hairs than this stick. I returned it; very disappointed.

This wax pencil is intended as a base for the Anastasia eyebrow powder...to assure sparse areas are filled in to create a smooth, contiguous brow. For taming unruly brows, use Anastasia's brow GEL for eyebrow control, or any clear mascara does pretty much the same thing. When getting your brows done at Anastasia's salons, after shaping they use brow fix, the powder, the gel and then the eyelights matte. The look is great and "do-able" at home.

Maybe I have particularly unruly brows, but I think this product is just OK. If I use the wax in the morning, chances are that by mid-day I will have some hairs out of place. I have also used the brow gel and find the gel to be much more effective. Plus the gel has the added benefit of not needing to be sharpened, something that is also very annoying with the wax pencil. Not to mention the amount of product that's wasted from sharpening the pencil (something the other reviewer aptly hit on). The only upside to the pencil is that it doesn't make brows stiff to the touch like the gel can. But if you don't spend a lot of time touching your eyebrows (and who does), you'll never notice the difference.
