Choose the shade of Reality Base that is closest to your natural skintone by matching to the middle of your cheek - the correct shade will visually "melt" into the skin. To cut ruddiness in the skin, one shade deeper may be used where needed. Apply to one pump to clean, primed skin. For the most natural-looking coverage, begin with less and then add more where needed. Set with Transparent Finish setting powder, if desired. |

Comments about Alison Raffaele Reality Base Foundation, Skintone 1 - Fairest, 1 fl oz:
This liquid foundation by Alsion Raffale is a great foundation when used with other products and not just alone. I initially had a hard time deciding if I liked it or not because its matte finish wouldn't last very long -- I have oily skin.
After testing it out with other facial products, I finally feel that it works very well.
I make sure to use a facial scrub that will help me with the oiliness (Queen Helene's Mint Julep Facial Scrub), as well as a good moisturizer for oily skin (Smooth A+ Moisture Serum by Blissoma). Don't forget a good primer (I currently use: Doll Face Primer + Mattifier + UV Reflector by Mojo Spa).
I love that the palest shade is actually quite pale and suits my milky white skin perfectly. It covers redness quite well too, which is definitely a plus (I don't need concealer). It feels great on the skin too -- you don't get that heavy makeup feel like with other foundations. Oh, and I make sure to set it with a powder (I use the translucent pressed powder by Real Purity) -- I believe that setting it with powder is key to how long it will last.
Overall the foundation doesn't control my oiliness really because at the end of the day my face is still shiny, but what I have noticed is that it doesn't look like a greasy mess anymore. Instead it looks glowy -- I actually quite like it. I'm not sure if the other products are what is making this product appear great, but for now I will continue to use it.

Comments about Alison Raffaele Reality Base Foundation, Skintone 1 - Fairest, 1 fl oz:
I'd read such great reviews that I really expected to love this foundation. After using it for a few weeks, I feel it's a waste of money, and I'm going back to BareMinerals.
This stuff takes a long time to apply properly, because it has to be thoroughly (VERY thoroughly) blended. I've spent a few minutes with a makeup sponge, blending it into my skin, only to find a distinct line or blotch, usually on or around my nose or jawline. The coverage is moderate, but doesn't look as natural as I'd like ... it's kind of chalky. I feel like the makeup is visible in my pores. I haven't used liquid foundation in a while, but I certainly don't remember that happening with brands I used before.
It claims to hydrate for 12 hours, but it really makes my t-zone too oily. So, while the finish is initially matte, after a while it is ... NOT. I've glanced in the mirror after just 6 hours and realized I needed powder badly. I could actually run my fingertip across my forehead and SEE oil left behind. Yuck. I should mention I'm in my thirties, and don't have oily skin naturally. Again ... this never happens with BareMinerals (or any other foundation in recent memory)
Another con: no built-in SPF (and another point in BareMinerals' favor).
It's great to see more companies making paraben-free and more natural cosmetics, but this one just doesn't perform.

Comments about Alison Raffaele Reality Base Foundation, Skintone 1 - Fairest, 1 fl oz:
I love this foundation. It goes on smoothly and clears out the skin tone completely. I've used all types of foundations and this is the first one that is not greasy and will last all day. The problem is that the price has now increased so much that I will probably have to look for something else. Maybe they have so many buyers now that they can increase the price, but thats not how it works with me.

I really wanted to like this. I was looking for a product free of parabens and other nasties. The color is perfect for my Casper white skin and it goes on smoothly. The only problem is that my face is like a grease pit by 10 am! This product is clearly not meant for oily skin.

Comments about Alison Raffaele Reality Base Foundation, Skintone 1 - Fairest, 1 fl oz:
It is the best ever. It goes on beautifully with my prescriptives "everything brush". It is the only makeup as of yet, that matches my pale skin without looking jaundiced. Thanks Alison. Also, my husband said how beautiful my skin looked.
Comments about Alison Raffaele Reality Base Foundation, Skintone 1 - Fairest, 1 fl oz:
Forget everything you've previously read or heard about this foundation. Reality Base has been completely reformulated into one of the most natural looking light to medium coverage foundations that I've ever come across. Its completely talc, oil, and gluten free (an incredible bonus for the allergy prone!) I'm very fair and I wear shade #1 in this. It is a lovely true ivory, without any pinkish tones. It does a great job of evening out my skin tone and covering redness. I have tried foundations from Revlon to Armani and this product gives me the closest to natural skin finish than any other I've used. When I wear this people comment, but not about my makeup, instead they comment on my beautiful skin (and no my skin isn't nearly perfect, its just Reality Base doing its job of "looking real"). If you're tired of "gloppy" obvious foundation. You have to try this... you'll fall in love! -just signed me "finally foundation satisfied"
Comments about Alison Raffaele Reality Base Foundation, Skintone 1 - Fairest, 1 fl oz:
Wouldn't we all love to have a foundation that leaves the face flawless, silky without looking made up? Here it is - what I call my "no makeup" - it produces a minor miracle. Alison Raffaele's Reality Base Foundation is oil free and glides on like a soft breeze chasing away unevenly pigmented skin and minor flaws. I'm a fair skinned one so I opt for Skintone 2 or 3. No waiting as there is with other foundations for it to "set" so blush, eye shadow, etc. can be applied. A matte finish is almost instantaneous. I swear by my makeup sponge so this is my method of application, beginning with a little of this sheer foundation and then adding more if I wish. An addition is seldom needed as even though the makeup is super sheer, the coverage is super complete.
